Is there anything better than to ask your loved one to marry you high above the clouds? I don’t think so.....
The Dolomiti Balloonfestival always has some wonderful stories to share. But this time it was something even more special. The young F.V. from Schlanders wanted to do something different for his loved one and invited her to a balloon flight one Sunday in Toblach. His speech in his head and the ring in his pocket, they both started out on what was to be an unforgettable experience.
Although he was nervous, he gathered all his might and, with tears in his eyes, he asked her „will you marry me? “ According to the pilot, the lady was totally surprised but answered „yes!! “ For the rest of the flight the couple were floating on cloud nine!
We will have to wait and see if another couple take this one step further and say yes in front of a priest during a flight – hopefully the next highlight of the Dolomiti Balloonfestival.
Balloon Flight of the boy with Lukemia, Lukas

Once again this year the organisers could make a young boy and his mother extremely happy. It was always Lukas’s wish to participate in a balloon flight in the Dolomites. Due to his illness, the flight had to be postponed several times until this year. Under the guidance of Alberto and Claudia Pasin, the day was one of the best in his life. Many thanks to all those involved.
Test Flight of the ECOMAGIC „Aconcagua“ from Ultramagic
This year’s Dolomiti Balloonfestivals was used by the pilots Josep LLadò Costa (Spain) and Uwe Schneider (Germany) to test their newest aquisition the ECOMAGIC „Aconcagua“. The Dolomite landscape had the optimal conditions to test this new balloon for endurance and fuel consumption. Through the double sided material the Spanish balloon achieved much better fuel consumption compared to a normal balloon which gives longer flight times and cleaner air.
